While technically Tesla sold a Long Range Plus version of the Model S as a 2021 model, it was quickly replaced by the remaining variant in the Model S range, excluding the Plaid model which we review separately. The Model S Long Range uses a dual-motor setup to produce 670 hp. The single-speed gearbox and electric AWD system gets it to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Drive it gingerly and Tesla says you’ll be able to achieve 412 miles on a single charge. The 2021 Model S can charge at 250 kW.

Standard equipment includes tri-zone climate control, wireless and USB-C charging for every passenger, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with a memory function for the driver, heated front and rear seats, a power-adjustable steering column and heated steering wheel, and a driver information display.

The center infotainment display is a 17-inch unit and it controls all of the features in the car. The on-board navigation will plan a route for you, telling you exactly when and where you need to charge. Below the new horizontally-mounted screen you’ll find two wireless phone chargers.

Rear-seat passengers also get a screen with a processor powerful enough to rival modern gaming consoles. You can play games on Tesla Arcade via wireless controllers. A 22-speaker sound system is standard.
